Excellent food companies in the Seongju region are participating in the ‘2024 Gyeongbuk Food Expo’ held at the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center until the 7th to promote the excellence of their products. Hosted by Gyeongsangbuk-do, the food expo is themed ‘Eat the Gyeongbuk, Connect the Future’ and eight companies from Seongju-gun are participating to showcase a variety of excellent manufactured and processed foods.

On the 21st, Gyeongbuk Seongju County Public Health Center received the Comprehensive Policy Excellence Award in the city/county evaluation of food and public hygiene management projects at the ‘2023 Food and Public Hygiene Officials Performance Competition’ held for 22 cities and counties in Gyeongsangbuk-do. This evaluation evaluated a total of 16 items of food and public hygiene management projects promoted throughout the year (△management and guidance and inspection of food and public hygiene businesses, △food culture improvement projects, △food poisoning prevention management and outbreak response, △collection and inspection of distributed food, etc., △public hygiene service evaluation, etc.) and distributed points differentially.

Samjin Foods, located in Yongam-myeon, Seongju-gun, was selected as a Centennial Small Business Owner this year. Starting with his father in 1998, the son now takes over the family business, producing and selling starch and grain products. The company also achieved the challenging HACCP certification.
